Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 on the 15th of June, 1996 from Stavanger) is an Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 it received a raving review from both music bloggers as well as the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and have been widely praised. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry announced her new song Runaway. Make it a special day. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering an instrument in her attic and being fascinated by the sound it could produce. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to pursue music solely to have fun or for the sake of growing, but that she must take it seriously. So she started with her own music. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as her main influences. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote could be used to not gain fame for her rather to help people to see their own value and impact to this world, she began singing them in public. She was suggested by her mother to perform her songs publicly so that people can see the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. Her family didn't hear about it until she turned 14. It was never a dream to become Aurora. Her sole passion is to write music. For her, the music she writes is the way that she feels anything.
